I am restoring a 70 cutlass convertible. I am currently working on windshield replacement. I removed the material that was glued to the top winshield header. There was minor rust issues I fixed, but on the ends near the top hold down pieces, next to the sides, it looks like the factory welding caused the ends to be very erregular. Is this normal or did any fillers come off? I dont want to glue the new material on for fear of leaking due to a bad seal between the conv. top weather strip and header. Does anyone have pictures or recomendations? I was thinking of scuffing the area and applying short strand fiberglass filler and smoothing it with finishing bondo.
