1963 f85 hub help ? What will work ?
I am wanting to go with 5 lug wheel instead of the original 4 lugs. I want to change the hubs, does anyone know what might interchange off another car. I would rather not drill my hubs ,but I may have to. I cannot go with adapters because it will change my offset to much. My objective is to put 17 inch american racing nostalgia wheels on my 1963 f-85 cutlass. I NEED HELP !!!!!!
Thank You , John Fugate

What about this gearhead ? and thank you .
I just emailed Roger at Stoked out with my problem. I have a Cherry bone stock 63 f-85 Cutlass Coupe, but the 13's and wide whites must go. I want to go with American Racing torqe thrust grey on chrome. Old School look but in 17 inch,, one inch wider in the back. What do you think gear head ? I dont want to lower the car unless I have to. It sits fairly low now, its to nice to cut up. Its white with red interior, original interior that is perfect and never redone, not faded , no rips dead perfect. The chrome is perfect on the car, its an older repaint but nice. Solid and tight, no rust. Heck of a car,, but I need the car to change looks,,,

As for too low am the wrong person to ask. IMO everything needs to be on the ground or up in the air strait axle gasser style.
I have no exact experience with those cars but if you get the offset right a 17x7/17x8 combo with apox 215 40or45 front and a 235 40or45 rear will probably be close.

I just saw where scarebird is selling disk brake conversion backing plates for the '46 to '48 Oldsmobiles like mine. They give you instructions on installation and a required parts list for the correct OEM discs and calipers too.

axle help
Well we can order some up from moser...All we need is the original axle and the bolt pattern you want. You might want to see if you can locate axle bearings before doing all this though. Some of those bearings and seals are getting very hard to find and or are obsolete. Ok? Jim

Moderators need to combine the two treads with the same question.
John please only question in one place that way someone comming along later will see all the answers in the question. Right now you have different people answering your same question in different threads.

I just bought the Scarebird disc brake conversion kit for the front and back brakes on my 57 Olds. His shop is 1.5 miles from my house. He is going to come over when I start my conversion and take pictures and see how it goes together. It looks like qualtity stuff. 11.5 3/4 ton chevy disc's and calipers on the front and 11.5 Oldsmobile calipers and disc's on the back should stop good. I figure I can do the whole thing in a weekend. I will post pictures, a build sheet with costs in December.
