Clutch fork

I am using the clutch fork that came with my 66 442, but I am using a Lakewood scattershield . My problem is that the fork I have is short and would require grinding the bell housing to operate. My question is did they make different length forks, Maybe I should pull it back apart and look for a part number

It has been several years since I had to deal with this problem, but the Lakewood scattershield does require some modification in order for the clutch fork to work properly. Lakewood industries used to offer a universal clutch fork that was based off a chevy design, and that is what I eventually used. Major issue was having an adjustable clutch fork pivot ball that gave me enough length to allow the throw out bearing to engage the transmission shaft; I ended up with a McLeod adjustable clutch fork pivot ball #MCL16909 cost thru Summit is currently $51.95 and clutch fork is $39.95 As far as I know I'm not aware of different lengths of clutch forks but I believe Oldsmobiles were somewhat more curved than the standard universal that I previously mentioned. Anyway, good luck!
