Looking for recommendation

Hi everyone. I am wondering if anyone is or knows of a true "Oldsmobile mechanic" in the Cleveland, OH area. I like to do plenty of things on my own but I also know when it's time to let someone else take over. I have plenty of friends that can work on engines, transmissions, etc but I also know that there are a lot of quirky tweaks that Oldsmobiles can handle to make them run much better and just haven't found anyone that is reliable as of yet. Any referrals are greatly appreciated as I believe I will be looking at some heavy engine work in my near future. Thanks in advance!

Mike

Hi Mike, I worked in an automotive parts store in North Olmsted in the late 1960s and into the 1970s prior to working at Weber Racing Equipment (later Weber Power Products) and know some of the shops that have been around for a while. For general auto repair you may want to contact Brooklyn Ignition in Valley View or maybe Weber Automotive in North Olmsted. They still have a web page under Weber Power Products for contact info. Another good shop, this one an engine builder, is Victory Engines on Lorain Road near W. 150th street; Ray Banyas the owner has been building engines since in the 1960s! Good luck!

Jim, Thanks for the info and great to hear from someone who knows the area! I grew up minutes from Brooklyn Ignition and didn't realize they were still around. I started in the business at Qua Buick, only mentioned it since you most likely know where I was talking about. Unfortunately most of the old school mechanics that I know are aging and not really do much work any longer. I will handle the light stuff, but my current 350 is burning a lot of oil and I'm fearing that it's time for rings. Not sure I trust myself for that large of a repair lol. I have heard of Victory and will reach out to them to see if they can accommodate.

Thanks again,
Mike

K&B Engine & Machine (Ken Brunt) in North Olmsted rebuilt the 400 and heads from the '66 I'm restoring, but I haven't yet fired it.

I have my 66 Cutlass serviced at "Al's Auto Service, 6097 State Road in Parma. Long time family shop. They handle a lot of vintage automobiles. Several Oldsmobiles besides mine and quite a few of other GM vintage. Ask to speak to Scott Duffy. Tell them Wayne with the Red 66 Cutlass vert recommended them.
