Cruise control question

Just got back from a long drive with my 92 wagon. Mostly uneventful. What is happening last night on the way back is off and on the cruise would shut off after hitting a bump. I have to assume I was hitting bridge pavement irregularities on the way out and such and the cruise never skipped a beat but it certainly was shutting down on the way back. I could hit resume and it would resume. Thoughts as to what might be going out? Im thinking a speed sensor is going kaput? Its a Custom Cruiser with the 350.

Perhaps the switch on your brake pedal is set too sensitive and, when you hit a bump, it shuts off either the electrical or vacuum side of the cruise control. That has happened to me a couple of times, once on my '77 Grand Prix and again on my '69 4-4-2. Just a thought.

X2. That's definitely the first place that I'd look.

I thought it could be that but I’ve not had this issue on it ever so I’d think if it were too sensitive, it would have been that way well before. I’ll still check it out as stuff has to go whacked at some point
