HELP, Real or real good copy 69 Ho top plate
A friend has this amongst items to sell.
is this the real one or a real good copy. Anyone that currently has a 69 HO to compare it to would appreciate feedback. My car is gone and it looks real but I can’t remember. It is metal…

Same with me Joe, it sure seems real but I don’t have one in hand to compare with.
any old photos I have found don’t lead me to believe it’s a clone but one never knows for sure unless side by side.
this forum has been great for finding those little distinguishing items…
Additionally the seller has no idea what to ask for it, real or clone…
just trying to help her out with reasonable idea of value.
these just don’t show up often.

I concur. If it's not genuine, it's a carbon copy of one. If the vacuum motor is original, there will be a Ford logo and month/year date code stamped on the end of the nose cone as well.
Is the lower parts of the air cleaner/inner lid with it? All the pictures didn't load for me so sorry if I'm speaking out of turn here. If I were to venture a guess, in today's topsy-turvy 69 H/O parts price swings, I would estimate the entire air cleaner could be on an asking price of anywhere from $3000-$4000 if complete. If just the top can, I would guesstimate it at anywhere from 1500-2K. It's only worth it when restoring a 69 H/O, because in reality, I'm not sure of any other use for it, to be honest.
It's a rare part in a niche market and will ALWAYS be in high demand in that circle, especially with the folks currently living with the fiberglas repro units. Whether you actually get that or not will depend on market conditions, etc., but you can always ask whatever you want. But- it will sell, I guarantee it.
