Yellowstatue, Richard Glista
Yellowstatue was my Dad, my Best Friend, and I know he was a wealth of Oldsmobile knowledge. Many people came to him for car parts or advise. It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share this post with you.
Planting his roots in the Holland Marsh, Richard also liked to travel in his Oldsmobiles, beit his '68 442, his Bravada or his '57 98. He shared his passion and knowledge of cars with his family and friends whenever he could. Along with his moustache, Richard's sense of humour was his trademark. He was quick-witted, always had a comeback and a way to make people smile. He held so much knowledge when it came to his cars, but he seemed to know something about most any topic. He could bend the ear of a stranger at a flea market or make a friend laugh with his goofy twist in conversations.
A visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 11 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 1 p.m. followed by cremation.

Sad to hear this. His knowledge and commentary will be missed.
I'll admit I often read a thread if I saw he had contributed. Yeah, there are several of you I'll do that in hopes of possibly learning something.
May your Dad ride a Rocket into eternity.

Richard was GREAT. I was able to get some hard to find parts from him over the past couple of years, and when visiting with him it was if I had know him for years even though we had met just a few seasons ago. He spoke with passion about this whole car hobby we all enjoy and he will be sadly missed.
My condolences to his family and all his friends.

Very sad and as I said, we carried on like we knew each other for ever. I was looking forward to visits this summer. I was actually expecting a call sometime soon. Very sad!

Muskrat. Keep him close forever. Truthfully you don't have a choice. You will never let him out of your thoughts. That is a good thing. Sucks loosing our family friends and so on. Keeping them in your thoughts is why they were introduced into your life. Keep your thankful up. Love your memories 🙏
I lost my Mom too early. We were finally best friends then poof... She never knew my Daughter's my Son my Grandkids. But I guarantee you this. She is in ALL of them. 🙏🤟

Hey Nikki, Dale here…. Sorry to hear about your dad. I was just talking to him recently about some parts. It was always a treat to stop by and shoot the breeze on my way up north.
last time there we were both crawling around upstairs in the barn looking for treasures
I know the 68 W30 I recently bought from your dad was one of his prized possessions. It will be on the road again one day. I knew your dad since the mid 80’s when we met at the olds club of Canada shows in London’s Fanshawe park. He had the Red 68 back then.
Condolences from me and my brother Glenn
