''new to oldsmobile''

hi my names jim, i just bought a 1961 olds f85 4 dr, with the 215 and auto trans.never even heard of one till i went to see it .sharp little car, only paid 500 buks runs n drives but needs brake work .lil hole i have to patch in the rear floor .but pretty solid for a car in N.E.any information would be helpful.im actually looking for a bumper ?.how can i increas performance of this car?easy bolt on options? let me hear your stories.

Welcome to CO Jim. You will find lots of helpful people on here. Any parts you need check out Fusick.com. Call and ask them to send a catalog. Its easier then the web site. Good luck with your project!

You'll want to hunt up Joe Padavano on this site. He's the technical guy, and he actually has a '62 F-85 wagon, so he can tell you anything you want to know about your car.

One of the things he'll probably tell you right off the bat is that the '61 to '63 F-85/Cutlasses are not as common nor as popular as the later ones, and while lots of parts are reproduced in the aftermarket for the later Cutlasses, there's nothing like that for yours. If you need a bumper, for instance, it will have to come from another car.

But having said this, there is still interest in cars like yours, and you should be able to locate whatever you need, in time, through this site and other sources, and an advice source like Mr. Padavano will be invaluable.
