Starfire convertable owner at last!

After many many years of looking, I am now the proud owner of a 1962 Starfire convertable. My Dad owned one when I was a Jr. in high school. He owned it for about a year and then traded it in a new "family car." I had a picture of one posted by my computer "my dream car" and to my surprise I found one in Bartonville, Texas just out of Ft. Worth. I live north of Houston, so this was meant to be. After going to inspect the car, I knew it was meant to be mine. Right after Memorial Day it was delivered to me. Since I am a retired school administrator and was an owner of a day car one might not think that I would be obsessed with owing this special car. My grandchildren think its great, my children think I may be loosing it it a bit, but as my grandson said when he first saw me sitting in my "baby",
"Women will hate you, men will love you and all the other grandmothers will want to be cool like you!" That sums it up.

Thank you, it's really rewarding when someone really understand and appreciates. It was the closest color I could find like my Dad's. His was black with white top and 2tone red interior. Mine has the white top and 2tone silver interior. I had to find one in great shape since I know nothing about the working parts of the car.

Nice ride. That was one of my very favorite cars growing up! That and the 64 Grand Prix. Hope you have many pleasurable miles with it.

I'm really out of my league with all of you. You are truly collecters of fine classic cars. I'm sure ya'll know how to actually restore and maintain them. I just know how to love and drive them. Sure is nice to know that there is a site that I can go to when I have a problem. Thank you for all the nice comments. I guess I can be like some and post what other cars we have.
1970 Jeep (when running used for hunting)
1969 VW bug (has had a complete body off restoration,we are the original owners)

Welcome aboard, Gran.

Sweet car! Hope you have many years of joy driving & caring for her. You'll be a quick study, I'm sure . And I think you'll find CO to be an invaluable resource, as I have.
