What do these symbols mean

The is a '66 442. This was a plate maybe 4 inches wide and 2, maybe 3 inches tall. It was found on the frame piece above the steering column. This is what the plate said:

The original one was so dirty and rusty that I had to write it down because the camera didn't comply

Those look like cowl tag codes. Was the plate on the outside under the hood next to the windshield on the driver side?

I don't own all the pertinent documents/books to decipher the data, but why not give the decoder a chance. It's worth a try anyways.

A quick guess I came up with this. Others will validate/confirm/deny/update.

Did it look like this? Does it match the one on the cowl?

Yes, that's the cowl tag

Norm, you missed the 5VK ACC codes, which are Deluxe Seat Belts (V) and door edge guards (K)

The engine in the diagram appears to be a V-8. Which engine was used?

From my very limited amount of knowledge of cars, it indeed had a V8. Also had one carb, not three. It was so dirty that I don't even know what color the engine was supposed to be.

Yes! I remember seeing the seat belts and I was so surprised! one thing I don't remember seeing are door edge guards. Do you have a picture?

Everything seems correct! Column Shift 3 speed automatic, black interior, air conditioning, year, make, model, all correct! Thanks!

Thanks!

You need the VIN number not the Cowl Tag. But, you can to this on your own. That picture is far from clear.

Where may I find the VIN? The windshield is super dirty, and all the stickers have eroded off. This was the only identification I could find of the car. Thanks!

Your VIN tag is metal located on the left front door body hinge pillar in the vertical position.
