I need a water pump for my 1970 W30 (must have X code on pump) with A/C.

The water pump you sold me was for a non A/C W-30. I just had it installed on my rebuilt engine and was told its wrong and for a non A/C car. I need to send the other one back for a replacement or refund my $250. You did tell me you would guarantee the waterpump. I need this done ASAP

thanks

Chris,

My info [based on paper copy of factory PN Manual printed 1972] says the "X" water pump is for

1968-69 442 TH400 perf. Eng.; 1968-69 V8 w/ C.A.C., HDC, O.A.I.; 1970 442 F85 V8 CAC HDC, O.A.I.; 1970 5400, 6400, 6600, 98. PN 230900

CAC = Car Air Conditioning
So, it appears to me that this item IS for "with A/C" and/or "with HDC" applications, and whoever told you "it's wrong and for a non A/C car" is, uhm, misinformed.

Perhaps you have incorrect pulleys that preclude the use of the correct pump?

Chris

X2. The X pump you have should be correct for all 70 W-30 cars.

Is that because W30 mandated the HDC option, therefore the "X" WP?

I believe that is correct.
X-treme duty.

The 5.7 pump was used on AC cars as well as non ac cars. 68-71

Ah, so all W30's that year should wear the "X" water pump, but many other cars ALSO got the X water pump. W30's is a subset of X-Pump engines.

"This is my "X" Water Pump
There are many like it, but this one is mine..."

Brian

That water pump overheats the car and I only have 100 miles on the water pump, Was this rebuilt or just a core?
