timing tab - 77 350 R

This is the timing tab, it fell out during a water pump replacement, covered in grease so I didn't notice, The larger hole on the right looks like it bolts to the where the lower p/s bracket bolts to the timing cover. There are spacer and washers there for pulley alignment (wp is Duralast CWP-455), same as previous. But it won't stay put because of the spacer being smaller diameter.. Am I doing this all wrong? TIA

This might help.

In this drawing, ignore the Toronado and motor home front engine mount for your application.

Thank you very much, rr! I feel dumber than a bag of stripped bolts, not the first time and won't be the last, lol

Any time.🙂

Do you have the 1977 Olds Chassis Service Manual? It can answer a lot of questions.
