What part number and how to replace
Hi,
I have an Olds Cutlass 71 and last summer I've noticed that it lost some transmission oil.

I have found a partnumber for the O-seal and I was able to order it even for europe.
Now I've noticed that the olds is having another leak on the transmission and I'm looking for another partnumber.
I've attached some pictures of the seal and I was wondering if somebody could tell me the name and the serial number of that.
Regards

Go to rock auto and then to the part number search at the top of the page, type in the number and then choose Timken for the manufacturer and they both come up.

Hi,
A while ago a replaced the rear seal from the U-joint. Now it's starting to get summer here in Belgium and I took the Cutlass for a drive.
When taking it out from the garage I saw again gearbox oil on the floor. When I've put him on the working bridge I saw oil on the same place.
To be sure that the seal was fitted correctly I've cleaned it and checked the car again after some days. Again same thing, oil on the U-joint BUT no oil on the connection from the U to the gearbox (see picture) also don't know what the name is in English.
Where does the oil come from? I don't remember seeing a hole in the U-joint itself were oil can come trough to the bolds.
Any guess??

Can you tell me what the yoke is? What part is that?
The seal did not look broken of damaged at all. So I'm not very sure that this was the problem. But replacing it did certainly not harm it.
