66 olds switch pitch 400 rebuilder in Northern California
Hi all,
I’m looking for a good transmission rebuilder near Northern California. I have a 66 olds turbo 400 switch pitch trans. I have talked to several good transmission mechanics who are familiar with them but have never rebuilt one.
thanks in advance!

I've rebuilt two of them myself. There is nothing magic. The input shaft has a couple of extra seals. The pump has the solenoid valve. The torque converter is unique. Other than that it's just like any other TH400.

I’m north of SF and the last local transmission shop closed up during covid or so.
I haven’t had the chance to try or meet these guys, but this is the business my local guys here recommend in Santa Rosa. Reputed to need a long lead time.
NorCal transmission
540 E Todd Road, Santa Rosa CA.
(707) 584-7388.
Open from 8 AM - 5 PM Monday through Friday.
Just a reference, I don’t know them personally. But when it’s time, I’ll call them.

I was just at the NorCal Olds Club show this morning in Lodi. Fun show!
You might check in with them about their recommendations.
Or go to your local cars & coffee and ask around about who they trust. The shops are dwindling, but the old car guys still know where to go.
Cheers
