Kickdown switch on 71 442...

Hi all,
Can you tell me if something is wrong with that kickdown switch. I have a small video but I can't upload it.
The pedal travel about 1"+ before touching the switch....and there's a rubber hose on it too.

Thanks

Someone put the rubber hose over the switch plunger to get the kickdown to come in a little sooner.

Thanks, I'll just check if I have power on these wires.

Ok, there's power on one wire with ignition ON, and if I move the switch all the way, the second wire as power, so I think it's good,
but if I floor the pedal, no way that switch is going all the way, so no power on the second wire.... could it be a wrong accelerator cable ?
There's a 1980 rochester on it right now, could it be that the throttle is not located where it should be? Or is the kickdown switch adjustable ?

Thanks for your help

Here'a picture from Joe, if I compare to mine (Post #1), I see that my rod is rubbing on the switch, what could do this ?

It looks like someone bent your switch bracket down and toward the pedal to make room for that bundle of wires coming through the firewall. You will need to straighten the bracket for it to work properly and possible re-route/ remove the wires and conduit coming through the firewall.

Ok i did bent the switch a little and looks ok. Now can somebody tell me (see pic) if the travel of the switch looks ok, I have continuity when about 3/8 inch to full extention of the switch.

Thanks
