1967 Bottom of Hood Color

Details, details. . . . May not matter much, but I'm confused on color for the bottom of hood -- body, flat black, gloss black, semi-gloss black, !?!?!? From parts I have sitting around, the bottom of a Spanish Red trunk lid is RED!! But the slightly bent hood I have looks to have semi-gloss or flat black with some body color near the front and overspray here and there. It's a Cameo Ivory car. I'm leaning toward semi-gloss but in search on Classic Oldsmobile I find a posting asking to see engine compartment of 1965 442 and one has body color (red) for full underside and another is black.

So, next issue is underhood insulation or not. Seems most cars have it, but it makes the louvers non-function, but they weren't that functional anyway. . . . Insulation or no?

What say the experts?

Use insulation if you like your hood's paint to last.

30% gloss with over spray on the edges and front. Front will have a lot of over spray.
