por 15 and seam sealer

Easy question. Can you put por 15 over existing seam sealer? I have a partial new floor and the rest of it has a little surface rust and I would like to cover the whole thing evenly.

I don’t think POR will stick well to the sealer. If it sticks initially, it’s liable to crack/crumble off later. There is also a chance that it won’t stick initially and sort of “slide” off the sealer, like oil & water, especially if the sealer is fresh.

Could you try a spot to see if you have some sort of a chance of adhesion? Try scuffing the sealer with a scotch bright, apply a little POR with an acid brush and see how it behaves.

Tough to say whether it will be compatible and successful or not. If not, since it sounds like something that will be covered, might it be a sensible compromise to POR the metal and use a gloss black paint on the sealer? Could even just be brushed on with an acid brush.
