Car Covers
I am looking for a decent outdoor car cover for my dad's 54 Olds. I think it is an 88. All the sites I have found list 88, Super 88 and Deluxe 88 and show them as different covers. I though the differences were interior and engine. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Any cover suggestions would also be appreciated. The car sits under a carport. Thank you.

Covercraft or California Car Cover. Look for the heavy-duty lined cover that's designed for outdoors. They aint cheap but neither is a paint job.
You can usually go with a measurement vs a specific model. Custom-fit is available.
Simply call the manufacturer and ask some questions.

The '54 88 and Super 88 were the same length at 205.26 inches. The 98 was 9 inches longer at 214.26. I would think that the two 88s would take the same cover. The 98, obviously, would take a longer cover.
Also, 1953 was the last year that Olds referred to the base 88 line as "Deluxe 88." For 1954 through 56, it was called simply "88." For '57 it was "Golden Rocket 88." Model year 1958 began the several-year run where the lowest-end 88 was called "Dynamic 88."

If you tell Cal Car Cover you dont want the goofy big logo, they will leave it off. I told them they can nock off $100 if it’s on, I don’t advertise for any company for free.
i like the black covers, that way the tires don’t get it all black on the sides.
