1977 Cutlass Supreme Heater Core Question

Which bolt was easy for you to get in first? the top ones, the bottom or the one right by the tranny dipstick?
Once this is done I think I'll do us all a favor and make a new thread with detailed instructions for this job lol

The bottom one needs to go in first to get the proper angle for the top duct. If I remember correctly the top one just below the heater core gave me the most problems. I pushed on the 2 bolts to stabilise them from moving around so someone could get a hold of them at the firewall, at that point I pushed the heater box up into the sealed position with no problem.
By yourself you'll need to really screw with them like I did, then have to take it back out tape up the insulation from wrecking it and gluing new weatherstrip in place .
So I would get some help if possible.

My help was not the best given its been a few years since I did mine, and my poor memory didn't help much either LOL.
You'll be fine, you did a great job and the pics were fantastic!!

got that thing back in, my gf's dad made it seem easy. All the studs have to go in at the same time and then you have to kinda pry the defroster duct out from behind the phlenum to line it up. All is well now, the heater blows nice and warm without leaks. Now, the defroster doesn't work haha, next project (the blend doors arent opening, so an arm must not be connected. That is, after I do a nice paint restoration (nasty swirl marks all over the paint, my meguiars compound and buffer should ship in soon).
