Blower not working
#42
One end goes under a bolt on the back of the passengers side head. The other end bolts to the firewall, which I suspect is the end that is still intact.
That strap is the body (firewall) to engine ground. The ground path back to the battery is completed by the negative cable attached from the drivers front of the engine to the battery.

Well, that was fun. I found the hole in the head, but no bolt. Went through every bolt I could find around the garage, then bought a few different size bolts before before settling on a 3/8.
I have no idea why a pretty new strap was broken and the bolt was gone. anyways, got the new VR on finally, Can't test it yet because I pulled the alternator trying to get to a broken manifold bolt.
I wont get into that here.

Pulled my fender off over the weekend, was anticipating a bad blower motor but cleaning off the ground and purple power wire connection and the thing just started working. Having alternator woes too myself and there is a spaghetti of wiring that was bypassed too. My next project will be to tighten that up... the alternator bracketry for a 71 looks different than a 72
