Smile Was a "Night Watch" option common?

Going through some old boxes of stuff I thought was worth saving years ago. One item is curious. It is a Button in a small plastic add-on panel for under the dask, that has "Night Watch" printed on the face. It looks like I saved everything I could think of, wires, Hi beam switch, the light assy, button, etc.
Was this thing a '71 Cutlass option? That's what I was fooling with at the time.

not very common at all, it kept the headlights on for a while after the car shut off. It worked through the oil pressure sensor. Once the oil pressure went down to nothing the lights would turn off. It was an A-body option as early as 70 maybe even earlier. The option does not work with the Rallye pack gauges as the oil gauge in that set-up uses a different sensor. You can make it work though by adding a tee.

Thanks,............ Odd though, as I would have prided myself in taking everything related to the system and do not have anything that looks like it went to the oil pressure transmitter. There is a large plastic box, (3"x4"), with electical stuff that I thought to be some kind of timer. I'll try and post a photo.......... Interesting!
I would have expected it to be somewhat rare, as I think I saw it and decided it was the 1st I'd seen, and it did not look aftermarket.

you know what, I could be worng (of course) , but the ones I have seen work off the oil pressure - electrically, I think it hooks up somewhere to that signal but not necessarily all the way under the hood. So I may be wrong about needing a tee but maybe not. it gets blurry sometimes, sorry. I have one and can check to see if our parts match, I see you posted it on another thread. If you clicked Edit on your first post and then click the "Go Advanced" button you could then add the pictures to the priginal pst.

I took a nite watch system off a '70 98 convertible a few years ago & it hooked up to the oil pressure switch also.
I would assume the Cutlass version works the same way.

My 70 442 has it.

It leaves the lights on for 1 minute.

DO NOT install or operate that switch!

(it launches an 80's TV series when activated)
