In 1964 the Chassis Service Manual was 5 different books. They will have a lot of information but not always the part numbers. A member here has reproduced the parts and accessories catalog which does have part numbers. It can also help for interchange, to see what other years/models used the same part. I'll try to find his thread.

Here's what I was looking for. I bought one of these from Paul and am very happy with the quality and amount of information in it.

In the tech section there is a thread where you can download, for free, a 1964 thru 75 parts book on PDF.

The first thing you need to understand is that the factory parts books only cover those parts that were still available in the parts network as of the printing date. The further you get from the build date of the car, the more likely that the parts for that car have been superseded or dropped completely. The second thing to understand is that the part numbers listed in the parts book are typically NOT casting numbers. For example, within a given year, big valve and small valve heads used the same casting number, but the as-machined heads carry different part numbers in the parts book and neither one corresponds to the casting number. You can access the Jan 1972 printing of the Parts Book here. The same issue of the Illustrations Book is here. Unfortunately neither of these has hyperlinks nor are easy to navigate. Frequently you have to just page through one at a time, which is frustrating. Sometimes you can use the search function if you know the key noun to search for, but that frequently isn't obvious (for example, an inner fender is found under "Plate, Filler").
