Two tone cars

Are they rare or low production?????
Mine is a factory white over blue Supreme and I've only seen one other like mine but a '72. Any other I've seen has been a vinyl top car.

I'm not exactly how rare they are numbers-wise, but I also agree.......you hardly ever see them.
I had a 72 Cutlass S Post Coupe a few years ago that was the factory 2-tone. The top was Baroque Gold and the body was Covert Beige. Everyone always asked me what happened to the vinyl top thinking it was removed - then I had to tell them it never had one.
I sold it and a following owner brought it to Cincinnati ( where I live ) to the Olds Nationals a few years back. A few of the judges asked me questions after the owner asked if I'd talk to them - I'd traced the entire history of the car when I had it. They kept asking " Why did you sell it?" - - - I guess it was pretty rare.....S Coupe with factory Wonderbar radio, air shocks, trunk release, color combo / no vinyl top and only 58K at the time.

I've only seen a few since.....
Mine old one has actually been on E-Bay recently if you wanna see a few pics. Item number: 250357398485

It looks exactly like when I had it EXCEPT for the stripes a recent owner added. I am almost positive they were an option, but I liked it a lot better without the stripes. Sidenote - - The rims should actually be painted the color of the body and not the top.

I have an A-C paint code '68 Cutlass S. Black top with white bottom. Will post pictures after I've painted it as it's now all yellow (how I got it).

Here is a pic of my '70. I have two build sheets and they both state two-tone paint. Thats theonly option this car had, came with a straight 6 and an AM radio. JKaz

Actually, I have figures on this that are pretty accurate. These figures may not be exact (I'll explain to those that are interested), but they are *very* close:
Overall for the F-85 series of all the possible 2-tones (for example excludes convertibles), 7.5 % or 22,026 were built.
Of Cutlass Supreme Holiday Sedans and Coupes, 3.6% or 2877 were two-tones.

KAZ, your radio was an option. Interestingly in 1970, the antenna in the windshield was standard, and all radios were options.

years ago,a good friend of my brother had a two tone red/white 69 W-32.

i believe he sold it to H&H reproductions and they in turn flipped it.

very unusual car.

No vinyl top on mine - I know it is original because my mother bought the car new - two tone was pretty popular on post cars of the 60's from what I recall

Two tone paint

Gene, mine may have been the same color as yours before the Eastern Oregon sun baked the paint off. There is a patch of white paint on the top where something round and about 18 inches across had protected the paint!

The firewall data plates will tell you what color the tops were originally!

The build sheet says Deluxe AM radio, as apposed to the standard one I guess. JKaz

Not really. The U63 AM radio was the base AM radio option. The word "deluxe" was just a marketing gimmick.

I go to E-town when ever they have a muscle car day, I will not go any day there are tuners. All they do is oil down the track. I usually go to Island, alot less riff-raff if you know what I mean. JKaz

Actually, my 68 W-30 is white with a black painted roof and red W-36 stripes. Wouldn't have been my first choice, but that's the factory paint.

I remember many cars in the 60's like that. My Dad had a 62 Catalina which was blue with a white top.
