'62 88 two tone: roof line trim body color?
I have a '62 Dynamic 88 that was originally one color, and had no drip rail chrome. The roof trim pieces that hold the roof weatherstrip were also body color, not the polished stainless ones. I imagine this is because the model of this car is the base line.
My question is: Is it correct to use the same roof trim pieces if I change the car to a two tone? I was planning on painting the car it's original body color, then the roof white, and installing chrome drip rail trim. I am wondering if the roof weatherstrip trim needs to be body color, white, or if I need to switch it for the stainless kind. I am sure the stainless would look better, but if it is "correct" to use the painted pieces I would do that.
Any help appreciated!

I can't speak with authority for hardtops, but sedan body styles matched the door window frames to the lower body color. The stainless pieces were optional for Dynamic 88s as part of an upgrade trim package which also included drip rail mouldings and some fancier interior stuff.
I would say that painted weatherstrip retainers on a hardtop should match the roof color.
If Dave Yaros sees this thread, he will know for sure.

Here are two pic's of a Dynamic 88 with the correct Provincial White top.
One has no trim package and the drip rails are body color.
The other has the drip rail trim as ordered and the drip rails are Provincial White.
Merry Christmas and good luck.
Hope this helps, Dave
