I've seen the info a couple places... I have read accurate literature I think.

In my dealer showroom booklet for '63 olds, yes, there were 2 2bbl options, high comp 280 hp (standard-torquios) operates on prem fuel...optional(obviously for economy) 260 hp , regular gas 394 2bbl, at no extra cost (red)...these engines were offered in Dynamic 88!

High compression engines with a 2-bbl carb were available at that time. My '67 Delta 88 has a 425 2-bbl, high compression.

I'm curious as to where you got your H.P. ratings.
Starfire Motor...standard on starfire models and ninety-eight Custom Sport Coupe...345hp 440torque, 10.5:1 comp!

Skyrocket Motor...standard on ninety-eight and super 88...330hp, 440torque,10.25:1 comp!

Rocket Motor...this would be the standard motor in Dynamic 88(280hp) w/the other 2bbl being optional(260hp)!

Will I have a problem getting this to seal? What did you do to get them to seal? Thanks.
I have the SS brake lines for the fronts. It just took me a really long time to get them to mate and seal correctly. Just much harder to work with. Turned a 1/2 hour job into 2 hours. Don't over tighten and make sure everything is seated correctly and you'll be fine.

Ahhhh the Dynamic is afloat! Brakes are working great, runs great, and the trans even seems to be good... (though squishy, hah). Have a boat gas tank in the trunk (how fitting!).

Please vent that gas tank to the outside air! We don't want an explosion in the trunk, and it can definitely happen w/o a vent.

Hey 88; Check your throttle pressure on the Tranny, this could be creating your squishy feeling if it is in the up shifting of the tranny that you're feeling it in.

Oh, I think it's just how these trannies are... from what I've heard. There's nothing specific about it, just the 1st-2nd jump is way too deep, and from a stop it seems the stall is pretty high. I just think it's the way it was made.

Sounds like both of my transmissions. First gear stall will ****** it out of the hole burning rubber, then second seems to hit at a higher RPM than it should, and second gear is direct drive (like a manual) and third slides in like a mushy luxury car shift, and will cruise at low RPM's even at 120+ MPH. Gotta love the fact these cars were geared for GM's other makes that only had 2 speeds. The third gear is just a mega top speed bonus in the Olds!

Hey Guys; Remember if you've got the original Tranny which it sounds to me that you do, these are Four Speed Transmissions. Roto 10 more commonly called Slim Jims, or Jetaways !!!

I've been building '62 and '63 Starfires over the last twenty years so I can only say that the Starfire motors were always RED. When you look at your engine and it's not a Starfire it could be any color now, as rattle can paint could have been used over the years to clean up an engine bay by anyone reselling that vehicle. Something else to think about!!! I know '59 and '60 olds engines 371 & 394 were painted Aqua in color, (a bluish greenshade).....
