Don't be obsessed with getting AC/Delco-branded parts. Most are made in China now, anyway. For sparkplugs, any of the major brands (AC, Autolite, Champion) will work just fine, and your car will not know the difference. For wireset, there are many good brands out there. Shop on the basis of availability and price.

Mexico, actually.

I just tuned up one of my wife's 1985 D88s. I got everything from RockAuto. Champion plugs, Standard motor products for cap/rotor/ignition module/coil/plug wires.

the wiring is also odd and not original to the car. wiring comes from the alternator all around the engine bay and ends up at a 2 prong plug which my voltage regulator plugs into, then the other wire from the voltage regulator plug goes straight into the "computer" if you can even call it that (the electric box underneath of the glove box on the passenger side.

Only buy distributor caps with BRASS terminals, not the aluminum crap. Even Delco has both kinds, I think.

I also use Standard Products, they made excellent parts. I used to get their Standard Plus line of ignition products. They made copper plated points with heavier springs and a lubricating pad for the cam, copper plated terminals on their caps and rotors. If they are still available, I highly recommend them.
