car turned off while stopped at a red light

so i just became owner of a '96 88 and this happened this mroning. i was stopped at a redlight for maybe 30 seconds and the engine turned off. i had to turn the key back and turn it back on for it to drive, im wondering if this is related to maybe it needing some plugs changed or something. hopefully someone can give me some insight

Edit:so i was able to pull the codes, P0304 and P0336

Did it run rough before it shut off? Or was it running perfectly and it was just like someone turned off the ignition switch?

I remember that issue with those cars. IIRC the issue was either the EGR was sticking open and causing the stall. They would idle rough before hand though.

I also replaced a few fuel pressure regulators as well. That was more of a straight stall with no rough running.

I remember they had issues with some of the MAF sensors back then. To could tap on them with a screwdriver handle and the engine would stall if it was bad.

i noticed the car was low on oil, which i learned could cause a misfire and set off the crankshaft sensor. so i added a quart and am now going to wait. i still want to do a tuneup since its just now getting on 90k miles
