Exhaust question

I am having the 350 in my 88 convertible rebuilt and was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on what type of headers would fit. Also what's best shortys or long tubes?
The block Is bored .030 and I have #6 heads on it with a new cam that is a little hotter.

What year Eighty Eight? The 1971-76 cars allegedly can use 68-77 Cutlass headers. No one makes headers for the 65-70 cars due to the steering box location and the lack of a market.

It is a '75. I picked up a double hump crossmember from an earlier car.

Go with whatever gives you the best clearance between the headers and the starter. I'd also suggest a heat shield and wrap the headers. Keep the starter cool!

Wrapping the headers will keep them cooler but will make them rust.

Found some shortys

I found some nice shortys from Thorntons muscle car and had them ceramic coated.

They fit nicely. I just put some temporary exhaust pipes on out of 2" emt. Being an electrician Has it's advantages. I believe Thorntons has a set for BBO on there website. I got these for $500 + $150 for ceramic coating. I had a hard time finding shorties that would fit my 75 Delta.

A little bit low, but it will work till i bteak the engine in and get it to the exhaust shop.

Long tube headers off the Cutlass didn't work for me. The shift rod was in the way. The long tube headers for 1975 422 fit perfectly in my 1975 Delta.

The 68-77 Cutlass/442 headers for a BBO are the same part number.

Hedmen Header part# 58060 - blocked shift rod

Hedmen Header part# 58158 - was about 2 inches lower, shift rod clears

What engine do you have?

Hedman 58060 is for the small block Olds. They fit 68-77 A-body cars with small block.
Hedman 58158 is for the big block Olds. They fit 68-77 A-body cars with a big block.
Of course there's a height difference. BBOs have a taller deck height.

I’ve got 403 heads on my 350, do you think the Big block headers will work?
