what or where is the first place to look

I'm looking at purchasing a 71 Cutlass Supreme 2 door coupe with electric windows. The windows will all function as they should
from the driver's door control.

But the windows will not work from their own designated switches on the doors and rear seat panel.

I'm not electrically gifted. Can someone point me to a good place to start to diagnose? I'm factoring this repair

into my cost to purchase. The car is right at the top of my budget so I'm fighting for every dollar I can.

Thanks for any and all help.

This is my potential purchase. More pics if I can make it mine. Maybe I need to start a GO FUND ME . COM to help pay for it!! It's mostly stock. First thing I want to do is put in a 700R4 or 4L60 due to the high speed limits here in Arizona. 85 and you're holding up traffic.

The wiring diagram and diagnosis for power windows is in the Fisher Body Manual. There is a 14 gauge red/white power feed wire. You need to trace that wire and find where power isn't getting to the door switches.

Thanks Joe, I'll need to get that image blown up so my old eyes can read it. That's a start.

All Browsers have a Zoom feature. Locate your Browser Zoom feature and increase the Zoom to blow up the image.

A 71 Supreme would have a 2.56 rearend as standard equipment. That should do fine for high speed highway driving.

Kenneth - I should explain my aberrant behavior. I thought you posted in the wrong thread & I was (attempting) to razz you - unsuccessfully.

Thanks I see you use the Phoenix Highway system too........I didn't realize the stock rear gear would be that low.
