2020 OCA Nationals-Murfreesboro TN

As we get ready for the 2020 OCA nationals in Murfreesboro, TN, I wanted to post some general teaser info so folks can be preparing and making hotel reservations accordingly. There are multiple hotels within walking distance of the show, and we are looking for this to be a rather large show given its location and nearby attractions. The host hotel is easy access off I-24 in Murfreesboro TN (a suburb of Nashville TN).

As a member of the host chapter (Music City Rockets), we are working hard to make this a fun and enjoyable show with many great tours, show features, and events that will make celebrating the 50th anniversary of the OCA a memorable event. Here is a general listing of the tours we have been lining up for the event. The registration form will be going out in the January 2020 JWO and will once again offer online registrations as well as snail mail options:

Tuesday July 28 2020 - Lane Motor Museum and Nissan Auto Assembly Plant tour (same tour, one ticket and during the day time hours). Meal options and pricing still being finalized.

Wednesday July 29 2020 - Nashville Nights/Honky Tonk tour (will be in the evening). Ticket price will be $69 (per person) and will include a meal and a Grayline tour bus ride from host hotel into downtown Nashville where members can have 6 hours of self guided options to view downtown, visit the honky tonk bars, shops, museums, and see the nightlife.

Thursday July 30 2020 - Discover Nashville Tour (day time tour). Ticket price will be $89 (per person) and includes a Grayline tour bus ride into Nashville with tours of the Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, Riverfront Park, Studio B, Music Row.

Thursday July 30 2020 - Welcome Dessert (in the evening). Details still being finalized but this will be the general Welcome event for the OCA show.

Friday July 31 2020 - Car show judging day and evening tour of the Grand Ole Opry. Ticket price will be $89 (per person) and will include a Grayline tour bus ride from the host hotel to the Grand Ole Opry house where ticket holders can see a performance. Meal options still being negotiated.

Friday July 31 2020 - Drag Races. The drag races will be in Ethridge TN at the US 43 Dragway. More details to follow in JWO as we finalize the info.

We will work to keep information flowing as we finalize more details, publishing it in JWO and on various social media.

Thanks, EE. Great information on the tours, which is usually more difficult to come by in that much detail.

If possible, arrange your Friday tour departure time so that judges can go.

Just a note - The Lane museum is awesome. I spent a solid half a day there & could have spent closer to a full day there with a tour of their “off display” inventory & shop. It’s not a muscle museum, they specialize in micro cars & off beat, interesting vehicles (including a LARC LX 100 ton amphibious xport) + some cycles, atv’s, bicycles, etc. Highly recommended, especially with an assembly plant trip which unfortunately I have not ever experienced.

In my experience, Friday. Without a doubt. That's judging day, so any car registered for judging, which is most of them, need to be on the show field pretty much all day. Some people don't arrive until Wednesday or Thursday, and some leave on Saturday in spite of missing the banquet that night. Thus, there are fewer cars those days.
