My first dumb mistake

Had her for 3 whole days.

In the process of cleaning the wiper motor due to it not working I had the Great idea to take the cover off the motor.

Yes the brushes popped out. Yes it looks pretty much impossible to get it back together. Yes I'm sad.

Dangit

a lot of motors had small holes for a paperclip size wire, push in the brush, put in the wire to hold it assemble, and pull out the wire to set the brushes

Second mistake was dropping the bearing and watching it roll under my bench and disapppear between wall and concrete floor.

The universe must like me. It was sitting on some debris right at the top of the abyss!

No option to drill a hole.
I do however now have a small piece of bit stuck where the brush slides.
Gonna be an expensive mistake

Blue painters tape, some prayers and lots of luck she is back together!

Hooked to a spare battery and it turned. Now to see if it works in the car.

Mike, i would buy a Factory Chassis Service Manual for your car, It will have all the instructions for disassembly and reassembly of the individual components for your car. Saves lots of head aches

Before you get in too deep you should get the shop manuals as 70W32 suggests. You need the 1961 and 1962 books. These are the same books the Oldsmobile dealer mechanics used to service the cars when new and they're usually pretty easy to find on ebay or amazon. They include all service procedures and color wiring diagrams.

I like to use original printed copies since I've seen omissions and loss of detail in the reprints and especially the CD-ROM and PDF copies.

At first I thought you got married....whew.
This is how we learn without having to be spoon fed by google.
It was assembled once it will be assembled again.

Here are a few options if you want a full resto on it. Im about ready to send mine out for a rebuild/replating.
