kickdown electrics needed?

Hi,

I am about to remove the factory cast iron 2 barrel manifold to replace with a 77 350 4 barrel intake. I see the newer intake does not have the provision for the mounting of the electric kickdown rod/switch . Is this really needed to function, as I have no problem just manually downshifting, if I really need to, by hand. I noticed there was an additional microswitch/pushbutton that was also unhooked and just laying on top of the intake. I'd guess the microswitch was for the switch pitch operation. I'm willing to simply install a "power/economy" switch inside, like you'd see on an old late 80's jeep cherokee. Any ideas? I seen several other posts here regarding this question, but no real answers. Cheers, Mike

Try using a Summit universal kickdown bracket and the B&M TH-400 electric kickdown swith. Not sure if you are, but if you're running a TH-350 you won't need the set-up.
