What type of Oldsmobile do you own?

One Last Time AGAIN!!!!!!
Hello out there,
As a 57 year old man and a car buff since 18 years of age, owning my first car, a 1974 Spirit of America Nova (wish I still had that car but we all have those stories) Since 2000 I tinkered with AMC's owning and selling 8 of them. Very rare but not worth anything really and they were usually rusty as hell. As a kid in the 80's always like the style of the Cutlasses, so around 6 years ago, got out of the AMC racket and started fiddling with them. Since then I've owned a 79 Hurst Olds Tribute, 79 Hurst Olds real one, 88 Cutlass Supreme Classic, 1986 442, 1980 442 really rare. Sold them all as I've found out they are easy to sell and they were undercoated well so they didn't rot out, especially here in the south. After buying a 1980 442 really rare, in decent shape and restoring it I told my wife it's the car I'll keep. Well of course money talks and sold it despite my better judgement. My wife grilled me about saying it's the car I definitely wouldn't sell.
With that being said, I made another promise, I bought a 1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic and told her the same thing. This car is interesting at least. 80,000 original miles bought new locally and I don't think there wasn't an optioned not ticked off when purchased. T-Top- half vinyl top, complete rocker chrome trim, bucket seat, console, rally gauge, cruise control, power windows, power seats, power door locks, power antenna, tilt steering, rear window defrost, overdrive transmission, chrome sport wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel and even the body side molding that has the rivets. The Option Codes under the trunk deck looks like a really long grocery list, longer than I've ever seen.
The invoice on the bill of sale was $17,000 and some change, a lot of money in 1988. Has set since 2006, one floor board was iffy, and a little rust under the vinyl top of course, but interior was nearly perfect.
Just replace tank, sending unit, rebuilt carb, fuel pump, fluids, plugs and wires and this mechanically runs about perfect. The air conditioning even works and the only thing that doesn't is the power seat and power door locks.
I know it's not a 442 of 85-87 so it's worth a ton, but because of its options it'd be a good one to cruise around until I'm a really old man. Just wanted to share.

What type is it?
I was just revisiting this thread and got to wondering about my '54 Super 88. I would call it restored stock. However, I'm in the midst of a safety upgrade. I'm installing a firewall-mounted dual master cylinder brake system. It pained me to even think about doing this and ruining the original under-hood aesthetic. But, I have convinced myself it is for the best. For the types of shows I attend, it probably won't make difference. Most people won't realize it's a "modification." Other than the Ross Racing cam and hydraulic roller lifters, this is the only thing I would consider a modification on the car. So, is it still Restored Stock or is it now Modified?
My other car is a preserved 1984 Toronado Caliente. Nothing modified about that one
1954 Super 88 at South St. Paul, MN, airport.

[QUOTE=Human;1278471]She's only original once. If she's running well, it might be worthwhile to keep it that way but it's your car so do to it what you will enjoy most.[/QUOTE that car shouldve never left the factory without a V8. I really like that body style though.you have the makings of one hell of a sleeper!

Hello, I listed mine as restored stock, well it will be if I ever get it done. I am in the looking for used parts. And buying parts (and cleaning, restoring parts), stage. It still looks like it did when I bought it.
