I want to install a boot for the convertible top on my 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible and see that there are two options for connecting the boot to the vehicle. I’m looking for some clues on which one I need for my car as I don’t believe it’s ever had one installed. Here are the two Options Offered:
Here are pictures of what I have:

Hate to order one and have to send it back? Anybody have pictures or drawings of whether I should use 16 metal clips or plastic sliders?
Ben provided excellent images. I have the slider type, as well. Not specifically created to demonstrate top cover, yet there is decent coverage in this video of my '71 top cover.

The original boot I had was with the clips, half were broken or missing. That top boot got thrown away a long time ago. The chrome molding on the car has never changed.
I'll provide several images. I call the leather/vinyl piece attached to the top cover a bead molding. The bead molding slides into the channel, which you already have installed behind the rear seat. You require four (two/side) snaps to secure the top cover.
I've found if you spray in the inside of the top cover channel w/ silicone it makes it far easier to slide the bead molding in/out.

I did not buy a boot (top cover). It was on car when I purchased (2018). Not certain if it was the original OEM. I suspect it was since that color is a one color only for 1971 (but again, I'm not certain).
