‘67 442 Unknown wire question
Found this loose screw with two wires attached to it. It is on the driver side of the brake booster.
One wire goes here.
Does the screw go here?
The other wire goes into the car. I can’t get under the dash at this time to trace it.

Someone removed the factory accessory circuit breaker on the firewall. This would provide power for power windows, power convertible top, or power seat. If you let that screw touch the firewall or any other bare metal surface of the car with the battery connected, it will likely start a fire as the black wire provides a direct path to the + battery terminal with no inline protection. You need to disconnect the battery and replace the original circuit breaker before doing anything else with the car. It looks like this:

You need (require) two significant pieces of documentation:
1967 Oldsmobile Chassis Service Manual Original OEM
1967 cutlass 442 assembly manual

The screw was half wrapped in electric tape when I found it. I saw the hole and thought it should go there. Fortunately, the battery is out of the car as I am working on sheet metal corrosion under it. Thank you for the info. That picture shows a piece with what looks like two mounting holes and I have one open hole. I’ll look around that area, perhaps that doo-dad is there. Do both wires hook up to it?

This is what mine looks like. Dirty and original. The factory breaker has a large insulator on it to keep the wires isolated and protected from possible shorts. The red circle was for something else.

That helps, I was looking for the two holes today. I think I found a second one at an angle that would match what your photo shows. Thanks
