Tachometer in your 50's Olds

Anyone want to share your tachometer mounting ideas? I am thinking of running a smaller, under 3 inch diameter pedestal mount on the column, really don't want to mess with the look on the beautiful dash, but I have got have a tach to drive it, tune it, etc. So basically, I am torn. Thoughts?

Ok, well here it is. It's pretty small, 2 1/2 inches. I think its gonna grow on me. We'll see.

Is it a hotrod or a basic stock restored car?

No, its all original. I wired it with a 4 blade connector I can just take it out if purists are hovering at a car show.

Why do you need a tachometer ?it's an automatic car and i will never be over revved and shifts itself when it's time to shift. I must be a purist then. To me, it looks out of place and just tacked on . To each his own. If you like it that's where it should be...Tedd

its quit on me a few times, hard to even tell if its still running, 400 rpm in drive. Ill pull it out before any purist looks at it! Lol thanks for the input.

Ok, column mount is out, just way too gawdy. I moved it under the dash, used the bottom screw for the ash tray, so no holes drilled.

The car I just bought had one mounted to the left of the steering wheel next to the window.
